I’m really into pimples—there, I admitted it. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. I think a lot of people find this strangely satisfying, right?
Just a heads-up though: I’m not into that Dr. Pimple Popper stuff. People often assume I’m a fan when they hear about my little obsession. But no, that’s a bit too extreme for me. I prefer dealing with the occasional whitehead or blackhead; the cystic stuff is way too intense for me. You’d need a strong stomach for that.
Here’s my dilemma: I don’t have much acne that’s easy to pop. My acne is deeper and rarely satisfying, which usually leads to me being too rough on my skin. Every once in a while, I’ll get a really good one, and I just have to call Zack during his break to detail it all—because I’m a bit obsessive like that.
Anyway, Zack has amazing skin, though there’s always some stuff to extract. He lets me do it because he’d rather I experiment on his face than mine—true love right there. So, about once a week, I go into full facial mode: steam his face, get him comfy, grab my tools, and get working. He complains the whole time but still lets me indulge in my weird habit.
Then, two weeks ago, a reader DM’d me about a pore vacuum that I had to try. Intrigued, I hopped onto Amazon, did some research, and picked out a cute pink one for myself.
When it arrived, I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. There were mixed reviews, ranging from bruising to not working at all, with most people saying it was fantastic. I had to test it, but not on myself initially. Obviously, Zack was my first subject. After his shower, to open his pores, I started with his nose. As soon as the vacuum touched his skin, I saw the magic happen. The complaints were minimal, and he was pretty impressed when he saw the results. The rest of his face? Not as exciting—lesson learned: the nose is the sweet spot.
Then it was my turn for the real test. With my small pores, extractions are tough. I didn’t expect much for myself—I mainly got it to keep my pimple-popping interest alive with Zack. But after washing my face in warm water, I gave it a shot. Surprisingly, it worked better than I anticipated. Zack was amazed too. I got so into it that I used it three days in a row—ended up with a slight bruise, but it faded quickly!
In short: the pore vacuum really does work. Just shower or wash your face before using it, target your nose for the best results, and don’t use it consecutively for days. It’s definitely worth the buzz and unbelievably satisfying.
Plus, it comes with four different attachments for various needs. I’ve only tried the pore vacuum part, but the others are meant for fine lines, skin smoothing and exfoliating, and skin tightening. I’m not sure about all that yet, but I’m willing to give them a try!
If you decide to get a pore vacuum, let me know how it goes! Can’t wait to hear about your experiences!
