Let’s Dive into Celery Juice
So, apparently, celery juice is all the rage in the health world right now. I just recently discovered this trend, and now everyone’s curious on social media, asking why I and many others seem to be guzzling celery juice every morning.
Here’s the deal: I recently learned I have hyperthyroidism. I’ll definitely share more about that in a full post, but for now, someone suggested celery juice and the Medical Medium as a potential remedy. I’ve heard of the Medical Medium before and immediately went out to get some celery.
I’ve been drinking it every day for two weeks. While I can’t say my thyroid is completely healed—since I’m not getting blood tests regularly—I have noticed some changes. First of all, my energy levels have increased! I don’t drink coffee, so I’ve never had that morning jolt, but the celery juice helps me start my day quicker, which is great because I’m not a morning person. Secondly, my skin has been looking really good lately. I’ve changed a few things in my skincare routine, but there’s a noticeable brightness and glow now. Lastly, my heart rate seems to have calmed down, which was my biggest frustration with hyperthyroidism.
Plus, it feels really good to drink pure celery juice. I’m not a huge fan of eating celery, but drinking it is easy, and it truly feels like my body appreciates it as it goes down.
I’m not an unhealthy eater, but I’m also not the healthiest. Starting my day with celery juice has made me more mindful of my food choices throughout the day. Starting healthy gives you that momentum to keep making good choices.
Since I’m not a scientist and can’t explain why celery juice is so powerful, I’ve gathered some notes from the Medical Medium for you.
What People Are Saying About Celery Juice
– It’s got powerful healing properties and is considered a miracle cure for chronic illnesses, significantly improving health. Anthony William, aka the Medical Medium, calls it “one of the greatest healing tonics of all time.”
– Drinking celery juice is a potent detoxifier. It can eliminate viruses, mold, yeast, and bad bacteria, and flush out gut toxins. It also detoxifies the liver and supports heart health.
– The luteolin in celery juice is an antioxidant that reduces inflammation, which can be the cause of many health issues.
– Celery juice reduces bloating, keeps your skin healthy and glowing, improves digestion, boosts immunity, sharpens focus, and maintains high energy levels.
– I started drinking celery juice because it helps cleanse the body of the virus that causes thyroid issues. I’m currently reading the “Thyroid Healing” book by the Medical Medium, which is packed with useful information as I try to heal naturally.
– Bonus: It’s great for anxiety sufferers since its detoxifying properties support the nervous system.
– The controversy: Can’t I just eat celery? Apparently not. Eating celery is healthy, but it doesn’t offer the same benefits as juicing it—juicing removes the pulp, making its healing properties more potent. Plus, you can consume much more celery juice than whole celery. Juicing breaks up the cluster salts that help bind and remove toxins.
Tips for Drinking Celery Juice
– Drink 16 ounces (one large bunch of celery hearts) of fresh celery juice every morning on an empty stomach. If it doesn’t feel strong enough, increase to 24 ounces a day.
– Drink it alone without mixing in other vegetables. If you can’t handle the taste, try adding a small amount of cucumber or green apple and then gradually use less until you get used to straight celery juice. Personally, I don’t mind the taste.
– If you’re short on time in the morning, chop your celery in advance—this is what I do—to blend quickly in the a.m. Freshness is key!
– Use organic celery.
– Results can appear in as little as seven days, so keep drinking!
– Since it’s a powerful detox, you might experience extreme exhaustion or an upset stomach if you have a chronic illness (like thyroid conditions). Your body needs time to detox. It also speeds up digestion, so you might feel a bit bloated initially.
How to Make Celery Juice
Grab a large bundle of organic celery (one bundle equals 16 ounces).
Option 1: Rinse the celery and juice it.
Option 2: Since I dislike juicing and the mess, I opt for blending, which is easier and just as effective. Rinse the celery, chop it up, blend it in a high-speed blender until smooth, and then strain it using a nut milk bag.
