Changes are happening with my skin, and it’s just so good that I have to tell you all about it. I’ve dealt with adult acne for a few years, mostly hormonal breakouts around my jawline. I’ve tried everything, and while some worked, my skin still looked dull.
Many acne products can be very drying, and I wasn’t paying enough attention to moisture. People with acne, including myself, often get scared of oils and moisturizing products, but I’m not anymore.
Here’s what’s up: When your skin is really dry, your body produces extra oil to hydrate it, leading to sebum buildup and acne. By keeping your skin properly moisturized, you’ll likely have less acne—I’m living proof of that.
Also, a friend introduced me to @namvo on Instagram, and now my goal is to have luminous, dewy skin. I’ve also revamped my makeup routine to keep everything looking fresh, but I’ll talk about that in another post. Today, I’m sharing my nightly skincare routine!
1. **Eminence Organics Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist**
I’m a big fan of Eminence because they use clean ingredients. The Eminence Neroli Hydrating Mist is my favorite. Think of it like Evian but with hydration, dewiness, and anti-aging benefits. I spray it on several times a day—before and after makeup, right after washing it off, and after applying my nightly skincare. It tightens the skin, protects against free radicals, boosts collagen, smooths wrinkles, and hydrates with Neroli oil and coconut milk.
2. **Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth Serum**
This serum is like a daily vitamin for my skin. Vitamin C is great for boosting collagen, and this serum brightens my skin so much. It’s incredibly hydrating, making my skin glow. I apply it at night after the mist and before heavier lotions. I also use it before makeup for a quick glow.
3. **Ole Henriksen Goodnight Glow retin-ALT Sleep Crème**
This product is incredible and absolutely essential. If you choose one item from this routine, let it be the Ole Henriksen Goodnight Glow retin-ALT Sleep Crème. A friend recommended it after retin-a was too harsh on my skin. The crème is a plant-based retinol alternative and has transformed my skin. It acts as a gentle exfoliant while moisturizing—I wake up looking refreshed.
4. **Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème**
Ole Henriksen is a skincare champion, and this eye crème lives up to the hype. I’ve struggled with under-eye circles since I was a kid, and this is my best eye cream so far. Inspired by the banana powder used in makeup for color correction, this cream helps conceal dark circles and plumps up the under-eyes with moisture. I use it at night for a vitamin boost and also before makeup as it brightens and works as a great primer.
5. **High Beauty ‘High Expectations’ Cannabis Facial Oil & ‘High Five’ Cannabis Facial Moisturizer**
These two products are fantastic for moisturizing without feeling heavy. They contain cannabis sativa seed oil (no THC, don’t worry!) and loads of effective antioxidants and clean ingredients like red grape and broccoli. I use them right before bed, and the oil absorbs beautifully, leaving my skin hydrated and smooth.
6. **Y Facial Roller**
I just got this Y Facial Roller from Amazon, and it’s my favorite so far. It gets super cold in the freezer and fits the contours of my face perfectly. I use it after applying all my skincare products to help them absorb better and give myself a lymphatic drainage massage before bed.
After finishing my routine, I give myself one more spritz of the Eminence Neroli Hydrating Mist and head to bed, excited to see my improving skin each morning!
