I have to admit, I’m not super into the holidays. The other day, I went to Homegoods to pick up some pumpkin-scented candles, but that’s about the extent of my holiday enthusiasm. The decorations were impressive, fun, and spooky, but I can’t justify buying things that’ll just end up lost in the garage, only to be bought again next year.
The same goes for costumes. The last thing I need is a cheesy costume hanging around in my closet, just in case I decide to wear it again, which I probably won’t. I’m a minimalist when it comes to my belongings. I don’t like having stuff that’s just taking up space, so that’s my reason for not going all out.
And then there’s time. Nobody’s got time for that.
Typically, for Halloween, I look through my closet to see what I already have and try to get a bit creative. Or, I only buy something if I think I’ll wear it again.
Today, I’m sharing some costume ideas for the lazy girls out there, like me. You probably already have many of these items in your closet, but if not, my picks are affordable and cute, so you won’t break the bank, and you can wear them again.
I’m curious, do you go all out with costumes or are you more of a closet costume creator like me?
**Halloween Costumes You Have in Your Closet**
**Throwback Vibes | Penny Lane Costume**
With the seventies making a comeback, this costume is a blast. If you need to buy any of the pieces, I promise you’ll wear them again this Fall/Winter.
**Babe in a Bodysuit | Not So Basic Black Cat**
You can’t get more classic than a black cat costume, but basic in a good way. Sometimes, the classics make the best costumes. I like these go-to outfits because they’re open to interpretation and allow for creativity. Plus, it’s something I’d wear on a regular night out (minus the cat ears), so I’m all for it.
**Trench Coat Costume | Frisky Flasher… but Also, Kim K.**
This one’s cool because it serves two purposes. You can go for the frisky flasher look or channel Kim K. I’d lean towards Kim K. (just add a black wig), but the Kardashian style isn’t for everyone, so the flasher is just as awesome.
**Jessica Rabbit Costume | Featuring a Hot Red Dress**
I’ve been loving red lately, so this one’s definitely in the running. “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” was one of my parents’ favorite movies. I’m always up for an excuse to wear a hot red dress. Plus, these $30 strappy rhinestone heels look just like a pair of Gucci shoes I spotted at Nordstrom.
