Traveling can really mess with my skin, and this trip was no exception. Jamaica’s humidity was off the charts, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know my curly hair was totally out of control. I just embraced the island vibes with my Rihanna-inspired look, and my skin loved the moisture.
Flying, on the other hand, always dries out my skin, so I was ready for that. What caught me off guard was the dry San Diego heat that seemed to draw out every bit of moisture from my skin. So, as soon as I got home, I unpacked and immediately whipped up my go-to ultra-moisturizing and vitamin-rich DIY Cannabis face mask. Yup, cannabis. I’m a big fan, so it makes sense to use it on my skin.
This mask is perfect for your skin and won’t get you high, but it will make your skin glow like never before. Here’s why a Cannabis Facial rocks:
– THC has amazing anti-inflammatory properties that help heal various skin issues.
– It’s full of antioxidants, which protect your skin from UV rays and harmful pollutants.
– These antioxidants fight wrinkles and fine lines, fade dark spots, even out skin tone, and give your skin a plump look.
– It’s rich in fatty acids, providing hydration when used topically and helping to regulate oil production, which is great for acne.
– Plus, it’s all natural.
Here’s how you can make your own Cannabis Facial:
**Ingredients:**
– 1 ripe avocado: Packed with omegas, it’s super moisturizing and can brighten your skin tone.
– 1/4 cup hemp oil or marijuana oil (where legal): Though different from marijuana, hemp is part of the cannabis plant and packed with THC antioxidants. Cannabis oil, if available, is stronger, but hemp oil works too.
– 2 teaspoons Spirulina powder: This superfood algae is full of skin-loving vitamins and amino acids, protecting your skin from free radicals and promoting a faster skin cell turnover.
– Several drops of tea tree oil: Great for acne, but substitute based on your skin’s needs.
– Face mask brush (optional).
**Steps:**
1. Blend all the ingredients until smooth.
2. Wash your face with warm water to open your pores before applying the mask.
3. Use a clean makeup brush or face mask brush to apply the mask generously to your face.
4. Let it sit for 20 minutes.
5. Rinse with cool water to close your pores and finish with a hydrating rose water mist.
6. Enjoy that glow!
