Organizing Our Registry and Our Favorite Gift Selections

Organizing Our Registry and Our Favorite Gift Selections

If you’re searching for traditional wedding registry advice, tips, or a list of must-have items, this might not be the best place for you. I’m a bit unconventional, especially when it comes to wedding planning. I’m not keen on following every rule simply because there are too many that don’t seem logical to me, so I’ve decided to throw most of them out and just go with the flow.

While I can’t help with recommendations for fine china, I can suggest a stylish set of pots and pans, trendy coffee table books, and even a foot massager that looks like an ottoman—Zack’s favorite pick! Check out some of my top registry choices and find out how we set ours up, plus the one rule I did stick to.

I’m not a fan of the countless rules expected during the wedding planning process. However, I did follow one registry rule that I believe everyone should consider—offering gifts at three different price points. Having gift options for every budget was really important to me. Some guests are traveling from far away, and I don’t want them to feel obligated to give us an expensive gift. Their presence is the real gift.

Zack and I have been living together for about five years, so we don’t need many of the items that newlyweds typically ask for. We focused on a combination of things we want and need. Plus, our wedding and registry are small. If you’re planning a larger wedding, you might want to include more essentials like dish towels, bath sets, and bedding.

When it came to choosing where to register, I wanted to make it easy for everyone. Registering at multiple stores can be overwhelming for guests, especially when there are excellent universal registries available. We chose Amazon for convenience and MyRegistry for a universal option. I initially started with Zola but switched to MyRegistry because the Zola bookmarklet wasn’t functioning properly. The bookmarklet feature is crucial since it lets you add items from any store online.

So, that’s the lowdown on our registry! Let me know if you think there’s anything awesome I missed.
