Let’s dive into one of my favorite topics: Instagram! Today, I’m sharing some behind-the-scenes tips on how we efficiently capture the perfect shot. When it comes to Instagram photos, I usually work with three people: Zack, my fiancĂ© who’s a camera pro; Cindy, my super talented photographer; and sometimes my mom, who knows my angles even if she’s not a professional. We often manage to shoot three different looks in one go.
Here’s a little secret about influencers: they’re not always “on” every day. While some do dress up daily for spontaneous photos, most of the images you see are taken on different days. I admire those who get all dolled up every day, but that’s not my routine. Unless I’m on vacation and solely focused on creating Instagram content, my daily life involves much more than just the ‘gram.
So, I stack my content. When shooting three looks, efficiency is key. I can capture all three in under an hour, thanks to the Fashionlush rule of three. It’s a simple strategy many influencers use, though not everyone knows about it. It involves taking a full body shot, a half body shot, and a detail shot. Let me explain:
1. **The Full Body**: This shot captures your entire outfit from head to toe, including shoes. Get creative with your background and angles. I used to stick to plain walls, but now I mix it up with different poses, like walking or even doing a Fashionlush Squat.
2. **The Half Body**: This is a closer shot that highlights your face and upper body. It tends to boost engagement on Instagram. I usually pose for these, focusing on outfit details and varying my poses, like fixing my hair or looking back.
3. **The Detail**: This shot is all about the finer details of your outfit, without showing your face. It’s a great way to add variety to your feed. Some of my favorite detail shots include body selfies, shoe close-ups, or even a flatlay with accessories.
And there you have it, the Fashionlush rule of three to help you streamline your photos and ensure a variety of great shots for your feed. If you have any Instagram tips for taking photos efficiently, please share them below! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
